As the promoters of Connect, our goal is to provide a positive environment for lasting smiles, to make friendships and to unify our families with unforgettable music. One of those times you’ll describe as “you had to be there”. Please leave your egos and inhibitions at the front gate and enter with a warm heart and positive attitude.
ON THE WAY TO CONNECT...
- *** Please drive safely! If you’re unable to drive home after the weekend, please ask for assistance.
- *** The directions are clear, but a Saskatchewan road map will help.
- *** Be respectful of the area. There is no excuse for obnoxious or shocking behavior.
- *** Prepare yourself for an outdoor camping event. We recommend the following to keep you happy: tent, sleeping bag, pillow, backpack, extra clothes (rain or shine), flashlight, food, bug spray, pets, first aid, drums, plenty to drink (water), funny jokes, sun screen, inflatable water toys, bathing suits, towels and more love to share than you can imagine.
- *** DO NOT BRING: weapons, mean pets, fireworks, drugs or illegal substances.
- *** To keep the campground free of broken glass please bring cans and plastic!
ONCE YOU ARRIVE AT CONNECT...
- * When you enter the gate you will be given a wristband. You MUST wear the wristband the entire weekend. DO NOT TAKE IT OFF UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!! Lost wristbands must repay at full price.
- * All vehicles entering the grounds at night are not allowed in the main camping area. Please carry your gear to the camping area.
- * Please park in the designated areas. DO NOT PARK ON THE GRASS! Park orderly and closely to fit as many cars as possible in the parking area.
- * Please drive into your parking spot and then please stay put--the more driving around you do, the more you disturb the area.
- * You will be given information at the gate that will include a map of the event site and a performer schedule.
NOW THAT YOU’ RE AT CONNECT...
- * MOST IMPORTANT: Please pack all trash out!!!! LEAVE NO TRACE... Please feel free to assist with cleaning up any garbage including old cans, cigarette butts, bottle caps, etc. PLEASE DO NOT LITTER.
- * You will be given a trash bag at the gate - PLEASE USE IT at your site. Extra trash bags will be handed out during the festival and are always available at the front gate.
- * Please recycle! Bags will be available for this as well.
- * Please keep your garbage and your recycling separate from each other.
- * Firewood is available at a minimal cost, contributing to the main fire pit is encouraged!
- * There is a naturally springfed swimming pond just off the main stage area. It is 4 feet at its deepest, and is wonderful for floating on a hot day! It is surrounded by a small beach area, so bring towels, mats, whatever keeps you comfy for poolside lounging.
- * Full concessions available.
- * Please do not disturb the seasonal campers or their sites at Besant Campground - this is their summer home.
- * Do not go beyond park boundaries, as you will be trespassing on private land.
- * There is a main trainline along the south perimeter of the campground. Expect MANY trains daily, and there is no fence to keep you safe. PLEASE use your common sense and stay away from the train tracks.
- * You are the most important part of our festival. We have set up a wonderful playground in a beautiful setting. Use your head and know your limits of a good time. If you see someone out of control please help them.
- * Avoid dehydration, and please be careful about what you put in your body out there. Going sober can be a beautiful thing...
- * The sound stage and chill out area are weather protected, making this event go rain or shine.
- * If you bring a video camera or other recording equipment, please be respectful of people’s space. Outdoor gatherings are an intensely personal experience for many people, and not everyone wants to be on camera.
- * The park has numerous washroom and shower facilities - please keep them clean! There is also a park store.
- *** Please refrain from any illegal activity that could endanger the entire festival.
ANYONE WHO IS SEEN SELLING ANYTHING ILLEGAL WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE.
DIRECTIONS:
- From Regina, Brandon, Winnipeg, Eastern Provinces, Denver, Minneapolis...
- (These directions will be from Regina to the event site campground. The event site is only 60 miles/ 100 km from Regina, so anyone traveling from east or south should first get to Regina, and then follow these directions.) Regardless of where your traveling from, once you arrive in Regina you need to get to HIGHWAY #1 WEST (trans-Canada highway). This is accessed by ‘Ring Road’. Follow Hwy.#1 West out of the city. Once you’ve left Regina drive 60 miles/ 100km (20 minutes/33km past Moose Jaw) to the town of Caronport. SLOW DOWN! Approx. 5 minutes (8km) past Caronport, you will see the Besant Campground & ‘Connect’ signs and/or signs with a tent symbol and a south facing arrow. Turn LEFT, follow the road to Besant Campground (approx. 5 blocks). THIS IS IT!

- Follow HIGHWAY #11 to Chamberlain from Saskatoon (or from Prince Albert follow Hwy.#2 to Chamberlain) as you would driving to Regina. At Chamberlain take Hwy. 2 south to Moose Jaw. At Moose Jaw take Hwy.#1 west 20 minutes (33km) to the town of Caronport. SLOW DOWN! FOR ALL TRAVELERS:
- * Besant Campground is between Caronport, Sk. and Mortlach, Sk.
- * EXPECT STRICT TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT NEAR THE SITE!!!
- * PLEASE DRIVE SAFELY both to and from the gathering - - aside from being dangerous to yourself and others involved, car accidents and irresponsible driving surrounding the gathering give us a bad reputation with law enforcement and with local residents... this only makes it more and more difficult to keep gatherings going. Driving without sleeping or driving under the influence of ANYTHING is a VERY BAD THING...
Once on site it will be made clear where you cannot drive your vehicle.
Please respect this and keep driving at the event to emergencies only!
The music starts at 4 p.m. Friday, July 31 / 09 and ends 6 a.m. Monday, August 3 / 09
