"Jah, and hello!
Ve are ze 911 TURBO you've all been hearing about! Vell, a little about us, huh? Ve love our Porsches, ze ladies, and a good old fashioned dirty synthesizer, jah? Ve love dance parties, crazy lights, and vearing cool outfits. Ve also love Van Halen. I think zat about covers everything.
Keep it strong on ze Autobahn!"
911 TURBO

Get ready, ladies - superstar German electronic trio 911 Turbo is coming for you.

"Ze ladies ... remind us of ze ones in Germany," says synth player Jordan Trask, a.k.a. Von Trask. "Zhey have ze brown hair or ze blond hair and - ve don't really care vhich type of hair."

OK, they're actually from Saskatchewan and they're not exactly famous. But when Von Trask answers the phone speaking poor English in a heavy German accent, there's nothing to do but just go with it.

911 Turbo wants to get some bodies moving at the Velvet Underground tonight with local pop act Christian Hansen and the Autistics warming up the stage.

In the middle of folding his laundry, Trask explains the origin of his dancy, synth-driven trio.

"We were racing mine Porsche way too fast as usual, und another Porsche pull up beside me and want to race and I said, 'Ha. You want to race me, yah? Mine Porsche is faster than your Porsche,' " he says.

"Ve exchanged long glances of us flipping our hair back at each other and then mine Porsche clearly faster, and I thought "Vhy not tell ze world about how much faster mine Porsche really is?"

Trask's street race spawned a number of catchy dance tunes and a flurry of small western Canadian tours.

The tours have been building up a reputation for the hard-partying prairie band; they recently caught the attention of German alcohol manufacturer Jagermeister, who decided to sponsor one of their shows.

The partnership was short lived, for reasons beyond the band's control.

"They cannot actually afford to keep paying us so much money because ve are so huge, you know," explains Trask.

Trask and his bandmates, bassist Von Hattie (Jason Hattie) and drummer Von Lermstein (Bryce Lemky) know how to travel in style when they leave their Porsches to go on tour.

"We have ze Porsche custom limousine, yah. We sit many groupies inside of there," Trask claims. "And we would also like to tell all ze other bands in ze world that we have more groupies than your band has more groupies."

Now that they've got the touring and the groupies down, it seems the next step would be an album - but they're waiting until the time is right to release Songs for Ze Autobahn, a half-live, half-studio recorded disc.

"We are hoping to release it at ze same time that Dr. Dre releases his next album," Trask says. "We vill be competing."

Listing Van Halen, Megadeth and Huey Lewis and the News as a few of his prime influences, Trask reveals how he writes his masterpieces.

"Basically, we drive ze Porsche on ze Autobahn way too fast. I drive ze Porsche with mine feet and I play ze synthesizer with mine fingers und we pick up many beautiful women," he says. "It spawns from zhere but we don't quite know how it truly comes to be, yah."

Describing the band's music as, "Ze biggest dance party in your living room and you cannot help but love every second of it," Trask says he wants to get the fellas, and more importantly the beautiful ladies, all pumped up. Expect smoke machines, laser beams and wacky outfits.

Oh, and one more thing.

"We just want people to know that we are ze best band in ze entire world and that we will make you dance on ze dance floor because that's vhat we're here for.
